DIY: State Necklace

Show your state pride with this DIY necklace!
I have seen this kind of necklaces on pinterest for a while, and I have to say that I love them!, you can choose to carry your own home state or a place you love, that's why this weekend I'll have to make one pendant for Italy and one for Mexico!
Jewelry designer Maya Brenner has a beautiful US state pendants collection, in case you don't want to DIY you can go to her page and choose one for you, but if you don't live in the US then you could really use my DIY tutorial and make one!

You'll need:
-Cooper Wire
-Wire Cutter
-Round Nose Pliers
-Jump rings and lobster clasp.

Start by printing the state (or country) that you want to make, in the size you want your pendant to be.
Make a loop on the wire, wrap it around using your pliers.
Start tracing the state with the wire.
Use masking tape to prevent the wire from moving, keep tracing.
When you're done, wrap the wire on the top loop and cut it with the wire cutter.
Cut a piece of chain according to your desired length, add a jump ring in the center and then add your pendant.
Add a jump ring on each end of the chain, and on one side add a lobster clasp.

Now show your State with Pride!
