Do you have a favorite number? maybe your bday or anniversary date, a lucky number perhaps?
Well, I have several favorite numbers, but today post is about two of my favorites: 2 and 7, why?, because of my sons, whose birth dates are full of the same number for each one, my older son was born on 02-22-02 (see all the two's) and the younger one was born on 7-07-07 (you understand now), and even though they were both c-sections I didn't planned the delivery dates!

Well, enough explanations now to the DIY, ever since I looked at Lulu Frost Plaza collection (BTW some of the numbers she used are actually from the room doors at the New York Plaza Hotel) I knew I had to make a 2 and a 7 for me, and I could make this with Sculpey and nail polishes.
You'll need: Sculpey (in gray or brown), Nail Polish, chain, jump rings, lobster clasp and pliers.
Start by molding your Sculpey into the number you want, play with the clay until you make your perfect number, (I wanted a hammered look), use a knife to get an even shape. Make a hole on the top or add a tiny piece of clay (like I did) so you can add the chain there.
Take the number to the oven, 15 minutes at 275 farenheit degrees on a cookie or glass sheet. Remove.
Once cold use the nail polish you want and paint the number. Repeat until you achieve a perfect coat.
Use the pliers to add a jump ring and pass trough the chain in the length you like. Add two jump rings and a lobster clasp on the end of the chain. Now you're ready to show your lucky number!
And in case that you like them but don't feel like making them, you could always get one, here are my favorites:
From Left to Right, up then down.
Naomi Gray Number 7, Wildfox Number 9, Love Rocks NY Number 2, Lulu Frost Number 9, Silver Number 11 Similar Here, Jacqueline Braun Number 9 Similar Here, Ylang 23 Number Charms

My lucky number is 5! don't really know why but I feel specially inclined for this #, and of course would love to wear it as a pendant xx
