Well this post is about it, as a mexican I have to say that I've never celebrated this holiday, it is indeed a very special day on Mexico, because 150 years ago we won a big battle against France and it helped to build our nation identity, but we don't have big parties about it, maybe because the big mexican party is on September 16th, when we celebrate our independence day, anyway I enjoy seeing how this holiday has become so important in US and other places, and I loved to see how you celebrate it! :D
And because of this I'm showing you my mexican pride, this time on the fashion field, with some cool mexican inspired fashion and accessories and with an overview of my favorite mexican fashion designers, enjoy and Viva Mexico!
MEXICAN FASHION DESIGNERS
"Pineda Covalín is a 100% Mexican fashion design company which uses traditional patterns, figures and images from native Mexican cultures such as Mayan and Aztec. This company was created by two young designers, Cristina Pineda and Ricardo Covalín.
On their FW 2012 collection they joined forces with fashion designer Kris Goyri, injecting the brand with a vibrant and younger look.
Alejandra Quesada is a fashion designer based on Mexico City. Her creations are full of fantasy worlds and mexican traditional handcraft. Fun and girly, she's one to look for.
"Julia & Renata Franco are Mexican Fashion Designers, currently living in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Julia & Renata's garments are now considered as signature pieces, made with high quality, seasonless and lasting materials. In their creative exercise exists a constant dialogue with excellence, challenge and wit. "
And because of this patriotic festivity I also made a very mexican DIY, here's a sneak peek at it, I'll post it this week so come back to see how to make it.

DeleteI love 5 de Mayo! It's funny to see that you don't really celebrate this, in US is kind of a big celebration and a Margaritas-day! I loved all the pieces and the handbag from the first designer is fabulous!
