Last week I wrote about the Arm Party here, in case you missed it I showed a picture of some bangles I made, and here's the tutorial for it.
I bought a set of 4 golden bangles for $1 at Jewelry Box Store, this is one of my favorite places to buy cheap jewelry (everything's $1) and then transform it with some DIY magic. I looked for the store website but it seems they don't have one, but you could visit their FB Page to find a store near you.
You'll need:
Let's start with the easier DIY, I made one bangle using only thread in several colors and scissors and the other one with thread, rhinestones and glue (E6000), perhaps you have seen them before since several bloggers are making them, I just have to make some for me.
For the multi color one, you need to wrap some thread in only one part of the bangle, cut, make a knot and hide it behind the thread under the bangle, alternate the color, leaving a space to show the golden bangle.
For the second one, add a dot of strong glue to the bangle and then add the rhinestone chain, wrap the thread around the bangle, between every rhinestone.
For the other two bangles I added some texture with the hot glue gun, I made some dots on one and some zig zags on the other one, since the glue could easily be detached from the metal, I had to glue some tissue paper with mod podge to secure it, you could make this using a sponge, because I wanted it in gold I painted them with acrylic metallic paint, but you could save time and mix some golden glitter to the mod podge and add several coats to the bangle for a glittery golden look.
After letting them dry, I used green nail polish on the dots, to make them look like stones, and that's it, now they have a tribal look, I loved that they look like hammered bangles.
As always, let me know if you make them, and if you need help o ayuda! please let me know, and if you don't feel like doing them, here are my faves to buy!

I love them all, specially the one with the rhinestones and the one with the green dots! DIY fun!
