DIY Lucite Boxes

Last week I told you about a trend that I love, the Clear one, if you missed it you can see it here.
Well, today I'll show you a DIY I made using some acrylic boxes that I had from some gadgets I bought several months ago, I kept them because I wanted to recycle them and now they're on my desk as decorative lucite trays.

You'll need some acrylic boxes, mine were from my mac mouse and from a heart-rate monitor I bought a few months ago, in case you don't have any, you can get them at the container store.
You'll also need mod podge, sponge brush, a knife, glitter and a magazine to choose your print (you can also use fabric, wallpaper or even wrap-paper!) I used a magazine add from Gucci Flora Perfumes  (BTW I have the Magnolia and love it so, so much)

Start by adding a coat of modge podge to the bottom of your box or tray using a sponge brush, then put it over your print.

Turn it over and  press it using a cotton-ball to remove any bubbles, let it dry, then use your knife to cut all the edges. Next, mix glitter and Modge Podge and apply it over. Let it dry

That's it!, now you have nicer trays and boxes, to showcase your jewelry, perfumes, stationery and more, I added them to a desk tray and now I have a prettier place to put my office supplies and more.

  2. I always knew there had to be a better use for these boxes than just tossing them in the recycle bin. Great reuse of them!
