Accesories Trend: Brooches

A chic and easy way to add a touch of old style glamour to an outfit is to add a brooch, they're great because you can either pin it them on a sweater, blouse, dress, scarf or even a hat!

I really like the vintage kind brooches, the older the better, I have some that belonged to my grandmother, and I love using them on my clothing, and this fall I will add more than one on to a coat.

The Trend: Romance Noir

I could still hear my mom telling me not to wear too much black when I was younger, she prefered to see me in bright colors but I couldn't get away from my dark side LOL, eventually I started adding more colorful clothing with the years, but I'm still very attracted to the black clothes.

This trend is gonna let me indulge on my passion for black, this time with velvet, tulle, lace and leather, from gothic to femme fatale, you choose.

DIY Floral Arrangement

This DIY was an idea that came to me while I was waiting at line to pay some stuff at Hobby Lobby  and because the line was so long I had the opportunity to see all the silk flowers that were on sale, and I loved some purple roses that were perfect for a must needed renovation of a floral arrangement I had on my house, so I bought 4 of them for $10 and went back home to make my project.

Because this was a renovation, I didn't buy any vase, but you will need these things for this DIY

-A ceramic vase (you can paint it the color you prefer)

- Floral Foam (that you have to cut to fit the inside of your vase)

-2 Long sticks (you could get some from a tree or use some plastic sticks and paint them brown)

-4 Large Silk Flowers

-Thin ribbon

-Mod Podge and Sponge

-Glitter

Hairstyle: High Bun

I have to confess that I'm really lazy when it comes to my hair, I either add some beach wave spray and let it dry au naturel or I made a low bun and voilá, but for this fall I decided to try the high bun trend, feeling a little weird at first, but I gotta admit that I really like it, it's simple yet stylish.

FNO Polyvore Meetup in NYC

As you may know if you're a follower of my blog, last week I was on NYC for the FNO Polyvore meetup event.

I just returned today and spent all the day uploading the hundreds of pictures I took there, it was an amazing and surreal experience, since I got to meet part of the polyvore team that included Nadia, Chrystal, Jess, Eugenia and Lauren, and also the global polyvore members that came from places like France, Brasil, Chile and Canada.

I arrived on wednesday to Newark, where a driver on a limo was waiting for me outside the airport, then he took me to the Soho Grand Hotel in NY, one of the hippest and trendiest boutique hotels in NY, that afternoon I went shopping with Nicole (aka nikkeeb), we went to uniqlo, h&m, marc jacobs, acne, and a fabulous vintage store called What comes around goes around, and we also had the most delicious pretzel croissants ever! It was so fun and she was so lovely!

Hi everyone! If you're a frequent reader of my blog, then you must know that I'm actually at NYC for Fashion's Night Out (thanks to Polyvore), and while I'm away I'm sharing my blog with a very fashionable lady, Anya Sarre from shoedazzle .

DIY: Bling Embellished iPhone Case

My iPhone has become part of the accessories I wear everyday, and I know you understand me.

After seeing many different cases around, I had a vast selection to choose from, and like with bags or jewelry, I like my phone to show part of my personality.

That's why I made my own iPhone case, and it was really easy, I bought a package of bling rhinestones stickers and I just arranged them on my phone, playing with diverse patterns until I found the design I want, then I just glued each of them with a strong glue (E 6000) to prevent the gems from falling and that was it!
